Scouts return from Cub Scout Day Camp

Posted by phample on Jul 21 2015 - 11:10am

6 of our Scouts attended Cub Scout Day Camp at Round Valley Youth Center last week.  It was a huge success.  The boys learned new skills from the Boy Scouts, shot BB guns, practiced archery, made model airplanes and stomp rockets, climbed the monkey bridge, learned several new songs, made their own tie-dye t-shirts and so much more!  Here are a few pictures.

In accordance with the "Take Flight" theme, there was a remote-controlled quadcopter demonstration, a hot air balloon ascention, and a visit from the NJ State Police helicopter.

Cub Scout Day Camp is planned every year for the 2nd and 3rd week of July.

National Summertime Pack Award

Posted by phample on Jun 26 2015 - 10:03am

Scouts that attend any three pack activities during the summer months (June, July, August) will earn the National Summertime Pack Award pin which is worn on their uniform's right pocket flap.  The pins are colored to match the scout's rank.  Collect all 4!

The family camping trip was our first summer event and 29 scouts attended.  We are planning both a hike and a bike ride in July.  Look for announcements for these and other activities in the coming weeks.

The most fun a scout can have!

There are several scouts from Pack 182 attending day camp the week of July 13th at Round Valley.  Day Camp is an outdoor experience where Cub Scouts participate in team sports, games, crafts, exploring nature, and work on achievements and electives.  Boys attend Day Camp and return home each day.  The camp is run by Washington Crossing Council.  More information can be found here.
